James 1:13-18
James is continuing to tell his readers that like trials will still be there in a Christian life, there will be temptations. He is explaining that it is not God who tempts us. The origin of our temptation is not God but our own desires. Those desires, if allowed, will bring about sin. Herein lies our choice. We can either choose to turn away from that desire and do good, or give into it and sin. James even uses the imagery of a stillborn child to show us how our desires will end in such an awful place of horror and depression and guilt.
James want us to be clear that all good things come from God. You may have doubt that something good might be a trick to pull you into your desires, but James reassures us that if something is truly good, you cannot doubt that it comes from God.
